| I hate to admit it but the civic is pretty coo, got another mate who is about to put a b18 into a metro Cheers dude, I think I'm just going to get them painted, but probably a couple of decent coats so it doesn't chip off as easily as the original paint did | |

| You'll need more than a 2L block to mix it with that civic dude. | |

The civic will be quicker than the golf, but the driver won't be | |

| ^^^^^ Not alot of progress on the old golf this weekend :( Although was suprised to see the gti international advert in PVW had a rather sick golf on it Only thing i done was put both standard lights back on and started on my interior panels I also got offered a car for silly money Trying to polish a turd It will be going on ebay later though :( i would love to keep it, but my 16v engine won't rebuild itself :( It drives so nicely aswell, pulls ridiculously well! I was more than suprised by it would make a sick track day car! Couldn't resist a change of wheel Realistically a Renault 5 and me would never get on, my driving style would ruin it within days :( Hoping to get alot more done over the next couple of long weekends | |

| It's on eBay now dude. Got 14 people watching it within the 1st hour and 1 person wants to come and view it. Sounds like I need to get rid of it quickly. Don't want Chris on my case about it being there | |

| Whilst it's off the road, i've stripped the interior out, going to replace the dash, and do a few other tidying up bits. gonna make a lightweight false floor, similar to the one i did in my old scirocco Found 3 of the nuts that had held the heater in place were missing, so it was just hanging there, and the matrix was leaking, so i've ordered a new one of them. Also started to strip down the engine bay, to remove the s*#t paintjob that someone had done in there. Probably got another 6 hours left in there before it gets a bit of primer. Nitro-mors is savage by the way! Also had an engine delivered from Reading. Nice rebuilt kr engine and gearbox with 500 miles on it. Probably saved me close to £1k worth of rebuilding of my other engine. Well happy! I will probably be selling the inlet manifold as it won't be needed to run the carbs. Ordered my ashley 4 branch manifold aswell, as my exisiting manifold had a crack in it, so updates should be coming pretty quickly to get the old girl back on the road | |

| a couple of pretty decent updates got the engine bay sprayed saturday, filler primed first, the grey primer, then satin black It's no show engine bay, but it's clean and tidy now. I also stripped any unwanted parts off the new engine and gave it a bit of a clean up And now the engine is in the bay. All the engine mounts now have the poly inserts. pretty happy with how it's going to look. the red rocker cover, won't be staying though More to come next weekend got my ashley manifold to fit, and will be ordering my carb manifold tomorrow | |

| got a couple of updates from sunday. was at a show on saturday so didn't get anything done :( wheels are painted Look far better in the flesh  also got a few more bits done in the engine bay. connecting up wires and putting the fan in etc also got cracking with the interior boarded out the back. only used 6mm ply so it's fairly lightweight, unlike the arc i built in the back of my scirocco Just gotta carpet the arches and make a rear panel to cover the lights and wiring also made some door pods for front speakers, as trying to get hold of door pockets is an almost impossible mission :( This weekend should consist of sorting out the facet fuel pump, fitting the exhaust and manifold, and anything else that i can cross off the list | |

| Got a few more updates from the weekend Got my manifold bolted up, new bottom arms on and driveshafts sorted Got my king filter in place aswell Wheels are ready to be bolted up now the beads have been popped back on Also got the facet silver top fuel pump mounted. Need to order some fuel lines now to run to it The went and picked up my carb setup (manifold, jetted carbs and filters) and checked for fitment Checked for bonnet clearance. Should be fine I then took the carbs off to make it easier to connect all the water pipes. Plus its made it easier to fit the manifold in place. Plus i tidied up the silicone hoses and changed the jubilee clips for new shiney ones Also fitted my CL chin spoiler as the gti one catches on everything, and will only get worse now i've wound the coils down another inch all round And trial fitted the fresh wheels on the back oh and the wonkey jetex is on, but not fully bolted into place More updates next week if im not working the weekend | |

| Cheers for all your comments dudes, means alot Got the car off axle stands yesterday Got everything plumbed up and in place, making sure everything was done up nice and tight! Me and the old man master and apprentice lol Then today, my mate come up in his cabby. He's had it off the road for 3 years! that's given me the extra bit of incentive i needed to get mine back on the road Got oil, water and petrol in the old girl. 1 of the water pipes had a pinhole leak in it, so had to change that over. not too much of a problem. Turned her over a few times to get the fuel into the system, and as soon as it dropped fuel into the carbs it fired up Happy days With that i put the front bumper and lights back on. Couldn't let it run for long as my dash is still out so have no guages to check on temperature etc. That's next weekends task I will try and upload a video shortly | |
