| Cheers, means alot I'm still unsure on the backlights. Whilst they would normally look gash, i keep looking at them and have slowly convinced myself that they seem to fit in with the rest of the dark look. Or am I just going mad? | |

| deffo ditch the rear lights in favor of all red rears . i had them on my old mk1 ,just tinted a set of standards with that red lens paint and they came out really well. if you want a set of stock ones i think my mate may have a set,i can ask him, if your interested. | |

| yeah im still not sure on the lights. if a set of standards come up for a sensible price i will snap them up. some people are asking for £30 for 1 light which is more than what i want to pay. only really about haverhill at the weekends. i try to avoid the place most of the time | |

| a little update, got myself another kr engine. price was too good to turn down. not sure what im going to do to with it yet, sensible option is - build up a strong engine on bike carbs that will take the abuse. Or silly option which would involve forced induction and bring back haunting memories :( thursday the postman brought these to me gave the car a good clean ready for UD, although i wish i hadn't bothered after the rain on the way up :( the picture makes the arch gap look ridiculous, im sure it's just the way it's sitting on the drive. got the spats on, although i didn't get chance to take any pictures minus the masking tape. You can also see the amount of stone chips im getting on the rear wheels. not sure what im going to do with them at the moment :( Got to UD and back with no real problems, wouldn't fancy it again though. 5 hours of mk1 driving takes it's toll by the end of the day. Looking forward to spring fest now, hopefully should have my carbon sunroof blank on by then | |

| Haha i don't know how mine managed it, mk1s aren't the most comfortable of cars to sleep in. Spring fest should be a good 1. Might even run the mk1 | |

| I know your brake disk direction confusions where a few months ago but just to clarify for you, the only bit that matters is the direction of the vains in the middle of the disk, curved vain disks are always directional, and if the vains are straight but offset at an angle then they are also directional and should be fitted so the air is drawn in from the middle and expelled through the outside edge. but if they are dead straight right through to the centre then either way is good.

| She's dead After engaging my lead foot, i am now left with a seized engine. The car just totally died on me at about 5k, had to coast it to a stop. Cambelt is still in place, so that hasn't snapped. Further investigations will happen at the weekend Couldn't be any more pissed off! I have a spare engine, so if the worst has happened, i would be able to do a straight swap, but spring fest is looking unlikely. I will know more by the end of the weekend :( | |

| ah well, even more reason to build up a STRONG engine. something that will handle the abuse. i will try and find a positive out of this somehow | |

| It let quite alot of water into the engine, so it could have been an epic head gasket failure If that's the case I will get a new gasket and take the head from the other engine for now whilst the original gets skimmed. May aswell get it Ported at the same time Not giving up on this one! | |

| Poor old girl is alot worse than i thought :( Before i took it apart Then took the plugs out, and found this 1. the sign of things to come.................. inlet come off and showed more bad signs. metal everywhere The head come off and revealed the horrors 2 valves totally destroyed and im pretty sure there should be a piston in number 3 So that's the end of today's play. that engine is written off. so gonna have to arrange a new plan of attack | |
