what make rods are they mate and how much you paying

JBS H beam forged rods.. and they are £360 a set.

Then need to get some pistons..

have you taken a look at www.intengineering.com they are in the states highly recomended on the audi-sport.net forum they do a piston and rod combo package might save yourself a few quid think these are the ones im gona go for as im gona do a full forged engine myself in the next few months including rods pistons cams crank turbo injectors valves

Thats the make of the rods im looking at, but they are sold through JBS motorsport. Cheers for the link though.

BUT.. just browsing ebay and theres a set of wossner rods for 1.8t on there. Even more

yes m8 they are expensive just make sure you get the right pin sizes are yours 19mm or 20mm pins

Measured mine just now.. are 20mm pins.

nice work nice work nothing better than knowning your pistons are in safe hands are you gona do the turbo while your at it go for the hybrid k04s from cr turbos ignore the prices on the website thats for buying out right think its about 450 500 quid to have yours done then should be good for 320bhp with fmic and 3inch downpipe you know you want it

Don't know yet will take a look when it's in bits just going to try an kill my turbo at Santa pod on sunday so it gives mr an excuse to take the engine out

Think i know the advert you mean as theres a few sets available. But nah mine were a different listing.. Still lots of money though.. But wossners are good. Typed this on my phone hoping it actually works..

have you got a price on gasket sets, bearings, timing belt kit etc yet?

No sorry mate i have used it all on the vr lights. Thought i would maybe have some left over but i used it all and should have really got some more to do a better job of it.

Ive got gasket set already and i shall probabaly get the timing belt ect from tps

Pushed this out in the sun today and gave it a much needed good clean. Scrubbed up ok

A little progress..

hope you know its illegal to paint ure block red unless your running a big turbo so looks like ure gona have to bin the k04 now

Its in preparation for a bigger turbo in the future when its all run in properly

Ive had a change of plan with how i want the car to be. I want it too look like a standard s3 on the outside but if you look under the bonnet i want it too look as far from standard as possible

been keepin up on tufftyblokes thread on audi sport.net its the same coversion that im doing on mine but dont know weather to go gt30 or gt35 but i will also be running nos and water meth injection

Nah not at the moment. The head will be standard for now.

Yeah its slowly progressing.. my conrods 'should' hopefully be with me next week.. but the time this is taking im not expecting them. Going to try get a refund if they aint here in the next two weeks.
