| Few progresss pics Rear hubs rebuilt, new bearings, cylinders and brake lines Old gti lump bare and ready to remove Quick clean up of the bay, replaced a dodgy steering gaiter and fitted new bushes to the rack, also wrapped up column gaiter as it had been melted by the manifold. I had planned to run this engine for now until i could afford to go 2ltr 16v on bike carbs.. but then Jim offered me his 1.8kr on twin Weber 40's, big thanks Jim i promise it'll go to good use Oh yeah!!!! Still along way to go, but here it is bolted in Cant believe it, if it goes as good as it looks then its gonna be awesome... Also started re-shaping the rear panel work by cutting and welding.. its starting to look like a car again finally, but Simon already put these pics up so i wont do it again. Anyway, its getting there | |

Yes i think it is too , so lately its been all about bodywork - STILL hahaha all the panels are now fully welded on thanks to Lee, he's been a busy boy making the golf look like a golf again, heres a few pics A bit more grinding for the passenger side sill but other than that it came out really good, even the filler neck repair panel fitted - like a glove So now its on to the area i know most about, so its my turn to be busy doing the filling, sanding, priming and painting.. ive started today on the drivers side around the filler neck and arch, the filler neck is just about ready for primer now, and the arch will be done soon, its a pain trying to get the shape right, but it'll get there Cheers for looking all | |
