| No Lee you're not strictly wrong. VW produced the larger bore inlets (so I am led to believe) for homolgation reasons.
It is my belief, that it's because of this manifold that the old 8v vs 16v torque rivalry came about.
If you are going to increase the capacity of the engine (rebore,stroke,6A/9A,ABF) then this manifold will provide benefits as the lower gas speeds will be overcome with the larger swept volume (cos its sucks harder !!).
As far as throttle response is concerned I would always check the fuel pressure first then increase it almost to the point just before it starts to pour fuel in. Kjet is very very easy to set up right and even easier to set up wrong. Standard kjet and injectors are able to hold and handle 200 to 210 brake, it just has to be set up correctly, fifth injectors wired to run on full throttle help too.

| well tbh this car will very rarely hit the ton. And may be taken around a track one day. But i may tow with it. So would you say i'm best to stick with the 42mm? | |

| Think its more a case of having an unsightly towbar on a mk1 golf but then you could always buy 1 of those quick release types | |

but its also a good object to have when pulling up close to other cars, and people keep off your bumper, handy for a bike rack, just hugely practical. and i wont be battling with the elements trying to put up that tent!

it's your motor Dean, do it your way , you'll have the last laugh camping at the shows well have you ever noticed how you go camping with the mrs and you argue because she thinks your driving wrong (unless she don't drive herself). then you arrive at your destination and it's suddenly all calm, like it never happened. then comes the tent, and thats it........arguments gallore and she's angry for the whole weekend (also you forgot the tin opener). caravan = stress free camping
