Vento Front

Finally got the vento front sorted out, swapped it for the G60 steelies I had on the car before the Borbets, so i think i got a pretty good deal

I've got her booked in with Brad for 2 wings, bonnet and grill to be painted this thursday, so it's all coming together now

1 thing though. Your sooo gunna get fooked off having to turn the ignition just to pop ya boot open.

Maybe make it a constant live, its already switched by the button so it'll be fine

I initially had it on the live, but purely for the fact that I dont want someone to be able to stick a coat hanger in there and be able to push the button to the car I'm going to have to stick with this..

Another idea was to have a second button in series somewhere completely different so only if both buttons were pressed at the same time would it open, but that's just too james bond

yeah im quite lucky it's not something i have to find the source of etc. just a shame i was too much of a peen to notice it before!

the car's at brads now i think im having withdrawal though and my pocket doesnt feel the same without the big stash of keys might have to fill it up with pebbles or something

The paint's been slightly delayed by the lovely paint people giving brad the wrong colour

I may very well hurt an innocent bus driver very, very soon.

Ok time for a bit of an update. The car's come back from brads Twas a bit of a headache because the paint code for the car is LP5U, so brad bought that in, sprayed it and it was ever so slightly wrong . Compared it to Eds vento and it was different still apparently. I thought the end was in sight if im honest, but brad got the paint manufacturer to do some kind of spectral scan on the old wing (which is the right colour for the rest of the car) and now it's looking goooood.

Also had him smooth over the washer jet holes as I relocated them using some MK4 jets on the scuttle panel, but here's a hint at the finished result;



My battery died whilst it was at Brads though So tried to charge it today, still dead, so I bought another battery from eurocarparts for £30 and we'll see how we get on!

im going to have to start parking facing the road if you want to see the changes.. looks the same from the back

small update

Took apart a pair of headlamps i got off Will (moonlightcustoms) by putting them in oven, completely bodged them while trying to smoke them, put some lamin-x on and they've turned out like this;



Much like the car, they're not perfect, but I like them

I've somewhat neglected the car recently, so in the next weeks im going to be fixing her up a bit.

Oh and that plate's being changed back to the normal one, just realised how ghey it looks.

man those light are dark! can u actually see anything? and yeah plate does look a bit poo if u dont mind me saying!

It looks darker because the pic was taken in the dark. But yeah i can see loads with the lights on! bought halfords 90% brighter bulbs on bogof

Also I've not actually sprayed black over the reflective part of the light, so it's fine

Plan is to give it a service next weekend, it really needs 1

I think they're called something like "extreme brilliance".. came in a dark red packet, £19.99 each on bogof

That's "gunsmoke" - the same as jimmymidnight's on his merc. I have to say the night time picture makes it look darker than it is!

does that plate slow you down?

saw u on 20pence again the other morning, still loving the stance - oh and loving how you drive places with no grille lol i take it you're keeping the early grille safe by not driving with it on?! hope so anyway
