| they were really quite easy to fit once you've got the door cards off - only rubbish thing is because the manual winders stick out of the door card slightly you need to use this crappy black 'cap' over the winder. looks v.rubbish I'll see if i can get a pic | |

| Looks loads better on them, bit think you need to space the backs out to match the front poke and front needs to come down abit. | |

I was thinking of spacing the back out a bit, either that or try and get some tuck, but that's just not going to work because of the offset. I'm gonna look into getting the front down a tad, not too much because im a bit worried of the tyres/wheel touching the arch as that happened to liams old tyres on his mk2 - vladimirr32 wrote:

This is a widowmaker; The reason i had to use 1 was because when the car was on the g60s the car was a lot lower, meaning i couldnt get the trolley jack under. So i used this to raise the car from the jacking points then got the trolley under and let it carry on.. I know i shouldnt use it, but it just had to be done! Also now it's on the borbet's it's higher and i wont have that problem anymore cheers for the offer though James, I'll remember in the future

| k well after an interesting week driving the old girl around cornwall its made me think I want something else, but after talking to brad about spraying parts and being the kind of person who can't let anything go, I'm still going to perseveer. At the end of the month I've got MOT, tax and insurance all within the same 3 days :(
So between now and August the aim is to;
- Put on 2 wings I got on ebay and get the front arches rolled by Brad
- Change top mounts and use the correct nuts after Tom noticed mines using the MK2 nuts, which has unsurprisingly grinded up the inner part of the mounts and left the car driving shockingly bad
- New discs, pads and shoes
- Get the car sitting nicely on the front, might get some spacers on the back if needs be too
- Clean out the throttle body
- MOT without failing (yeah, right.)
- Tax it
- Insure it
- Vento front it to be painted by Brad
Lovely.

| lower mate and it would look the dogs.
im sure it will get through the mot with flying colours, mk3s are built like tanks.
as for the brakes, dont skimp! i got halfrauds disks and pads and i swear they couldnt stop a car if they tried. a hand out the window does more then them

| I got some discs and pads from GSF - I've got some from EBC brakes on at the moment and they've lasted a couple of years. I'm not sure if they're 100% needed for the MOT but better safe than sorry i guess Also planning on sorting out the sounds once and for all once I've got it through the pain of this month | |

| Had the MOT today and...... .....she passed! The only advisory is a rear offside brake line slightly corroded, but I had a look when it was over the pit and it's only just started, so I'll fix that sometime soon. Can definitely recommend Robbies in Soham for MOT as they have a pit and can test brakes without going on the rollers, so height isn't an issue at all. £45 is below average too so it's all gooood. I also recently got a Vento front end off edition which i swapped for some G60 steelies. It's truely mint in every sense of the word, apart from a tiny unnoticeable crack in a headlamp, but the grille is the nicer looking early spec one Also had Brad put on, roll and slightly flare 2 front wings ready for paint next month along with the vento front end And finally I had to put 2 new top mounts on the front as it had the wrong top mount nuts which chewed up the old ones (DIY camber ftw) so I thought I might aswell put her down as far I can bare for daily use; Looks a lot higher on the back than it looks in the flesh, but it's rideable and that's all that matters | |

| Boot PopDecided I needed things to do while the gf's in Turkey, so I dug out a spare solenoid from my central locking kit i put in the car and made a boot pop! Used these parts; How the inside of the boot looked before doing it; Took out the lock and attatched the solenoid rod to it; I used a bolt holding the washer pump in to hold the solenoid and a nut/bolt on an already present hole, so it was literally just bolt in at the right angel, attach the rod and away we go; I grounded the - wire of the soilenoid to the car then ran the + to the switch at the front, up the side of the boot lid; I drilled a dash blank and fitted a push-to-make switch I got off ebay, then attached the wire I brought from the back of the car. Because I didn't want the button live all the time, I connect the other side of the switch to a positive from the ignition which only goes live once the key's been put in; A pic of the button fitted - also swapped the alarm LED from that chavtastic blue thing to the more OEM looking LED next to it; Then to top it all off nicely I got a smoothed rear plynth off edition which left it like this; | |

| Wet carpetsWhen I went to cornwall I put a 6 pint milk bottle of water in the rear passenger footwell incase I needed it on the journey, then forgot about it. Bad idea. Someone kindly stood on it without me realising resulting in about 5 pints of it filling my rear left passengers footwell! So, had to take the carpets out, pressure wash them let them dry and put them back in :( | |
