| no worries mate still wonna check it out as am planning to do it to one of our t25's as for tsr, one of the lads we no had his bay done by them, he didnt have the turbo lump put in but he had nothing but trouble with it, cooling was a biiiig issue i do believe | |

| It's a lot easier in a T25 dude.........once the weather improves you'll have to pop over dude cooling is THE biggest issue in these conversions, rad sizes, placement and airlocks are just the start...... For anyone that wants to know more on air to watercooled get over to www.vwkd.co.uk tons of info on all different engines into all the different rusty old dub shapes (there's even some nutter that's you may have seen on vzi that's doing a vr6 turbo 4x4 caddy...which some of you might want to have a gander at) | |

| Got the bar done today Got to wait for a few bit and bobs to come through the post for the engine so started working out how i was going to mount the rad ....untill i removed one of the under pan plates and found a whole load of rotted out metal and filler on two of the out riggers:cry: | |

| Got the bar in today but wasn't to happy with the hangers ( the original bus ones, just moved forward) juts being supported by bolts...so i welded the hangers to the bus..... Then moved on to the radiator frame work.......... | |

| It's going underneath the bus between the chassis rails dude..... Ive just realised ive done it wrong for what i want to do ... Im thinking of having the back ( with the two side bits sticking up) loosly bolted and at the front rigging up an electric window mech to lower it for more cooling power and speed bump protection;) | |

| Looks good only thing i would say is I hope you heard the engine run as you cant get the crank re ground and these things throw shells away for fun but its not all bad they are easy enough to rebuild just costly. Stuart at zen performance is doing the same in his and has been for a few years now. And minimum hp should be 212 if uk engine 226 if jap or 250 ish if your lucky. I have a knackered engine which may have a few sensors left if you need any or brake some and a spare tdo4 turbo aswell. | |

| That is my main concern Ady, i havn't heard the engine run.. it was an ebay special (whole lot was £175)... the seller is a breakers yard over near wales,so i had it palleted up and shipped over.. he said he drove the car to the yard to strip for a 'mates' T25 conversion..that never happened.. ..So yeah .........im on tender hooks :pale: Don't suppose you have any oil pipes for the turbo by chance?? Barnzy you need to sign up to someone like photobucket to transfer pics... is your 2.3 based on a type one engine??? | |

| Yea it is based on a type one engin i know its silly because of the cost and they start 2 become very unreliable but i thought sod it lol. And cheers managed 2 sort the pictures out mine is the 72 bug on the project cars please tell me what you think i know it wont be everyones cup of tea. | |

| I would have liked to of built a big type one engine, but the cost was out of the question.....although this is starting too mount up quite a bit:roll: Had to do a bit of cut and shut with the radiator frame work ( think ive got a faulty tape measure ) Then had to get the bus back on the ground to see what height ive got to work with...... and that's with an empty van that's not settled........ may have to cut and weld a shorter sump.... Radiator wise ive got 6.5 inches from the bottom of the chassis rail to the floor....so i chopped and changed the centre section for better air flow.... not overly happy with the out come as i really need the bus higher to get my fat a$$ in a batter working position Im planning on having the front rigged up to an electric window mech which will drop it to this height ( 4" down ) then raise up to clear speed bumps and such......................once i get my head round it :| Also lined the petrol tank......................... (*note to self) if it says wear gloves.. WEAR gloves you fool cos it dont come off too easy | |

It's going to be a struggle, but i should be able to get my hands in there once they're in the firewall can go back in Next week...... the wiring begins :pale: | |

| cheers mike:D Got side tracked from the wiring........... Decided on a different location for the turbo...... ........and put it down where a lot of aircooled motors put them Then cut up the down pipe i had and started making a new one... Although i needed more gauges i didn't want too much clutter on the dash, so settled on this baby | |

| .. Battled with the weather today and got a bit more of the exhaust done.... I really like the chunky 'turbo' mufflers and pipe work that stick out the back so kind of copying that...... Then realised it might be an idea to get a back box before i went any further cut the tow bar out and tidied up some bits and bobs under the bus.... Phill, just buy a welder dude, that's all i did and just gave it a go.. Mike, there's a wiring loom with your name on it:lol: | |
