| Friend of mine has an Audi A4 TD estate auto.
Has no knowlege of cars at all ( less than me )
The local garage says it needs a new diff and is going to cost inxs of £1500.
Could new gearbox be put in to sort the problem or is the diff a separate unit ??????????? | |

| diff is in the box, get a new box couple hundred ££ for a good one from any 1.9TDi audi a4 OR passat.
£1500 is VERY steep for the job they are quoting anyway. | |

| Depends if it is quattro (4 wheel drive) then it could have 3 diffs front, middle and rear so all depends on model of car. If it is fwd just get another auto box and chuck it in job done prob £300-£400. | |
