Because it's probably a requirement regarding the BMW finance contract to have the first Major service done at a BMW dealer.
Done elsewhere would probably void any warranty and devalue the car considerably.

Its not just the oil change, but its as good as... the joys of a new car.

I did read somewhere that the oil used is made of diamonds, platinum and albino children, but that might just be a rumour...

Well I've now had my service, can't really say the car runs £215 smoother, but it's a stamp in the book etc i guess, plusmi got to spend a few hours at the dealer looking at potential replacements - pretty sure I've got that sussed for the end of this year Cool

Hopefully going to order new tyres/spacers and paint in the next week or so.
