| so i got some rad hoses and cut them to fit top is ok but the bottom is pretty scetchy; but i thought 'f**k it, ill just start it up and see what happens....' I turned the key and the starter made some funny noises and then nothing happened. I was so pissed off until i realised i hadnt turned the fuel pump switch to the on position so i tried again and it started! (after a few turns of the key) its not idling happy, and theres no lambda sensor in, so all the exhaust gasses are coming straight back out the hole.... the turbo is spinning, but you cant feel it sucking, but i may have not opened the bleed valve enough...

| You won't get much airflow whilst stationary from a turbo. They only seem to make boost once your driving down the road and put the engine under load. | |

| right so basically this thing sounds so good! i dont have a camera but ill try to get a soundclip sounds like a hot rod when idling due to the lumpy cam going pop pop pop the homemade radiator split almost immediatly ;-( so ive bodged this one into place for the time being until i fix the other and i fixed the rear arb mount too only problem is its 'spitting' something out of the exhaust. it can only be oil or fuel, neithers good! | |

| got some centre caps off ebay they look good, but two of the clips are broken so im going to send them back and just buy new ones and the gauges are working happily now too, exept the oil pressure

| Does the stuff coming out the exhaust smell of oil or fuel?
You said its a bit lumpy at idle so might just be chucking out some condensation from the exhaust and blowing a bit of soot out of the exhaust thats already in there

It could always be condensation which has settled in the exhaust, as its not gettingi properly dry which takes some time to do, dont worry unduly Tom. My vr does it much more than that as long as you are aware of it, it's not really an issue.
