last night the golf took a good 10 minutes to start, and a couple of times it back fired seriously loud Question its never ever has any trouble starting and once it started there was no werid noises or anything, and after getting it home i turned it off and it started stright up, really odd. is it something i should worry about?

what do people think?

cheers

Give the car a service billy. back fire is caused by unburnt fuel in the chamber then eventually igniting causing the loud bang.

Sounds light possible damp/cracked dizzy hence it not send spark to plug for it to fire.

New dizzy cap and plugs should do the trick. Winters coming so it wont hurt to replace them anyway.
