mk1 golf gti starting problems.

mk1 golf gti starting problem. starts straight away in the morning. but if driven for a while and then left for 20 minutes or so, it takes forever to start up again. any ideas please?

Any more info on the poor starting mate?

not modified. just takes ages to fire up when warmed up and left standing for a while. just keeps turning over then eventually fiires up. possibly a sensor ?

Have you tried unplugging the 5th injector?
Also, could be faulty warm up regulator/connection

is the warm up regulator at the front of the engine block with a fuel line going and of it with a connecter?

Yes mate. 2 fuel lines and a plug.

Check the wires to it aswell, being so old, they tend to break easy

yes unplugged them, but still same problem. do you know anyone near barhill who is fairly clued up on mk 1s who could spare me a bit of time and have a look at it. and give me some advice and point me in right direction. thanks for your reply.
