didnt get as much done today as others as my parents got back from holiday, but my dad did give me a hand at one point which made worka bit easier lol

so anys today, got a bad start had to tidy up a bit before i done anything but was ok once i got going and got some more high build primer for halfords. drivers side is pretty much as good as im going to get it without spending days on end perfecting it, i have got to the point in thinking of it as more of a minter than a daily now which wasnt what i ser out to do but am very pleased how it had progressed Laughing passenger side is pretty much done aswel just got a few pin holes to fill, and to fill the trim holes and grind and re-do the stone chip.

project--rustowagen mk1 caddy - Page 2 Thewhitecaddy103

project--rustowagen mk1 caddy - Page 2 Thewhitecaddy106

also picked some wheels up yesterday so i got on starting the refurb on those, dad popped the tyres off the rims for me whilst i was filling away, got all 4 rubbed down in about 3 hours which i didnt think was to bad going, all ready for painting tomorrow, they are going to be black with some sort of pinstriper around them but unsure what colours yet, so if anyone has any ideas that would be kool to share thme please?.....

the wheels are 13x7 wellers rather low et so gonna get some nice poke, also have some 15mm spacers which may find there way on the rears

heres a before and after of one of the wheels, the one on the left being the after
project--rustowagen mk1 caddy - Page 2 Thewhitecaddy102

and then one off all 4
project--rustowagen mk1 caddy - Page 2 Thewhitecaddy107

will have more piks with freeeesh paint tommorra
comment away peeps....
How about a dark-ish yellow? Dark blue and yellow are a good combo in my opinion, and contrast nicely.

Grey lettering with yellow striping, and then matching stripe on the wheel lips?
liking the colour combo, bit different and would stand out a much better than the darker colours, will give it ago on a test piece when i get the blue paint so cheers for the imput dude!

also have some more updates from today...got my wheels mostly re-furbed got them all primered up after finishing flatting them down and getting rid of the manky bits, got 2 coats of gloss black on both the inner and outter rim then ran out of paint  the look as if they are going to come out nicely tho, hopefuly will get some more paint and give them a couple more coats during the week as im back at work from tomorrow

project--rustowagen mk1 caddy - Page 2 Thewhitecaddy119

also finaly got the drivers side in the same colour primer! flatted the high build down, and keyed up and around the drivers door area, probaly not going to put anymore filler on this side now, still a few little bits and bobs that could be better but i have to be reolistic as this is going to be my daily and may get knocked about but i hope not! just got a bit more filler work around the rear of the door (think its the b pillar) was taking ages to sand the filler back so i hunted down the DIY sander and used that ^_^

project--rustowagen mk1 caddy - Page 2 Thewhitecaddy112

project--rustowagen mk1 caddy - Page 2 Thewhitecaddy120

thought it was rude not to try on a wheel just to see what they will look like, pretty pleased on how they look, not sure what tyres to run yet, anyne got any ideas? also found my g60 centre caps in my parts room which fit nicely on the weller so im probaly going to be running them. i detailed the vw badge grey ages ago when they were on my grey caddy, matched the primer colour pretty well Laughing
