| dad got this caddy nearly a year ago, it sat in the garden for most of the time and got put in the garage about 4 months ago after we finished my grey caddy. as im planning on striping my grey caddy again i need a new daily so i bought this caddt off of dad. only been working on her for about 2 weeks now but seem to be getting a fair bit done. dont really have any big plans, on a fairly tight budget with this one as im trying to put as money money as possible aside for my grey caddy. i already have most of the parts to get this project going, not planning on making it much of a show piece, but still want something i can take to shows and not be afraid to park it in the corner. anyway, time for some piks. most of the work has been in and around the bed area, as it was outside for so long it was covered in sureface rust, spend a hole 4 hours grinding it off with a wire wheel, then rust treated, etch primered and how it is now in white primer. also ground back all the rust on the sidewalls of the bed and done done the same steps as with the bed floor. before shot of the bed after grining and rust eater etch primer primer left side after removing the rusty bits, and primer (not all the small holes everywere) and then moved onto the right side before rolising i had no primer left lol then moved onto the bulkhead, this was in quite a state, decided it would be easyest to just cut it out and start again, when i came home from riding on saturday, one of dads mates had been over and cut the old one out, and made a t25 bulkhead fit into the place. was quite suprised how good it looked! before. cut out welded in and now after rubbing down the filler and more slapped on also the 4 holes along te bed rails got welded up and a quick skim of filler on. aswell as all the small holes in the bed sidewalls, havent yet put anyfiller on them tho, just some red oxide to stop the rust. left side right side left inner side right innter side also removed the rear number plate holder and ground the rust off, rust treated and primed but didnt have any life left in the camera when i done it. keep your eyes out for more updates shortly all views welcome | |

| tonights progess... ...rushed home from work to get sanding and working away before i lost the light at around 8. so got a couple of god hours of work in. most of which i was sanding the rear bulkhead as i put a fair amount of filler on, still needs more but defo looks better than it did yesterday. also got some other dents down the side filled and sanded and primered. progress looks fairly minimal but im happy with it so far ^_^ all comments welcome guys after a just and hour of sanding primed bare metal high build primer, still a fair bit to do, loads of little dents and a fair few pin holes everywhere. right side, few of the bigger dents filled. bare metal primed high build primer (paint was still wet when i took the picture so it looks rather ropey) then the left side, couple of dents filled sanded and primed. still got a fair bit todo this side, ran out of time tonight so hopefuly get this side done when i next get some free time. sorry for the last few poor quality piks, started to lose the light... | |
