| With all the boost pipes, turbo install and cam belt cover being all one off, and not being able to get a standard hose in for an air filter due to boost pipes being in the way I had to go under the servo m/c. Got a 180 degree bend off eBay, cut that into two 90s, cut the swaged ends off also, rolled a flat into 60mm piece for turbo end, swaged that and welded to one 90 end, the two 90s go under the mc and then back out near the cam belt cover. Then a straight into a step up into 2.5" into some segment pieces I cut for the filter to go straight, then into a step up piece to 3" with a swage I also made. Then a simple bracket, onto an m6 boss that's welded to the cam belt cover to hold it to the engine for when it rocks under load. Tacked and test fit Welded ready to make the bracket Retest fit with filter and boost pipe Bracket welded on Blasted ready for paint intake by the pinstriper, on Flickr | |

| i did struggle to get gears with teh shifter mech that come with teh gearbox, and as the mk4 died i took the shifter tower out of that. quick test fit and made sure it worked and bosh, whipped apart and teh usual mask-blast-paint and put together with stainless skimmed and scotched hardware DSC_0921 by the pinstriper, on Flickr the new throttle cable was a lot longer than it needed to be, the distance on the landy pump is obvisouly different to vw from mounting bracket to the part where the cable attaches to make you go brum brum, so i made a shofter bracket, then will cut the end off of the cable as i cant find teh correct clip anywhere, then attache the small piece i turned onto the rev rev brum brum piece on the pump, slide the cable through and a bolt comes in from the top to pinch it up. job jobbed bit of dash facia mofication finshed and all gauges in DSC_1048 by the pinstriper, on Flickr | |

| so lets bring this up to date, car is timed and running and has been running for a couple months, loads of problems with clutch master cylinders on the fire wall, keep mashing seals- went through the only two europarts had, so got hold of a new genuine unit in the end, finally got that on and bled the clutch after a few hours of pissing about. just trying to get gears and move the car and found an oil leak, turned out to only be the rocker cover gasket and leaked down the back of the block and i never noticed while i left the car running sorting the gears out, so i thought it was a turbo issue after seeing oil on the actuator pin out of the hot side, so dropped the down pipe off, and lucky i did as i found this All off, adaptor and flanges etc all off and back to cr turbos it went, let's just say its on going still, and I'm not happy with the service and explanation I have been given. Will lee it posted what goes on! All the raw alloy parts are back off ready to be painted coated or anodised for protection | |

| top mounts finally arrived, wasnt expecting a high standard of machining work in these. only wanted them as i thought they looked a bit more fancy than the standard items. quickly took them apart and de burred them, finish on these is awful. I did think about selling them on when i first had a look as i wasnt overly impressed with them. First plan was to push teh bearings out and polish and anodise the lot black, after 15 mins of peeing about on the fly press i thought i would leave the bearing in and it didnt want to move much. So will update that another time, as for the top and bottom section, just polished the bottom halfs that go under the car, machine lines were crazy! sanded the tops that get seen and polished those too. The smoother the finish before anodising the better the end result, simular to paint. just put one back together for a shiny photo. more soon..... top mount by the pinstriper, on Flickr | |
