| time for a resurrection... ive been away for a while so thought id give my build thread a bit of a bump, lots has been happening since i updated on here so ill fill you all in as much as poss, this may take a while though. last time i updaed id just had the SSRs powder coated, gave my baskets to jo for a polish up and he also made me some center caps before jo got his hands on them the baskets where pretty filthy after jo worked his magic polished up and seated together witht the centre cap, good job jo, thanks! once again winter soon came round and i still had my bandies on the polo so for a quick solution i furbed up the manky BBS that came with the polo when i bought it never really liked the BBS much just dont think they did much for the car and im not keen on black on black either so i started to refurb another set of wheels i had bought a while ago for £50 the le castellets.. obviously for £50 the wheels werent in the best condition, i had them powder coated as my dad was going to skim over them for me but i got impatient so took matters into my own hands, out came the filler, mouse sander and satin black, jonny helped me a lot with furbing these wheels so big thank you there! i didnt get a pik of what the wheels looked like from the begining but heres how they looked after powder after a quick sand down you could see the kurbing, this wasnt the worst one decided i really liked them black with the polished lip and center cap so we got on with painting them once the lips were sorted finished finally on but defo need spacers, put some porsche stickers on my center caps as i thought they looked like mini D90's and so did a lot of other pple i fooled haha got a pair of 25mm spacers for the rear and 20's for the front, took off my number plate and painted my vw badge black, mega happy with the results, this is how the polo looked for spring fest 2010 at spring fest next show was inters, id dusted off the bandies for this show next thing was a visit to the body shop as i was never happy with the paint, lots of key scratches and car park dents, i bought the polo with the intent to have it painted. whilest it was in for paint i had the arches rolled and flared, side rub strips taken off and smoothed, number plate recess smoothed and all dents removed, got it back in time for E38 and it looked so good! quick snap when i got it back home at E38 whilest the polo was in the body shop id picked up a new set of winters, yup more wheels i got the pepper pots for a good price and was just going to slap tyres for the rough months to come. before that it was players, the first time id gone to this show and managed to get my self into the hanger with the big boys was an awsome day and ill defo be going again this year had another little mod to fit before show time out with the old in with the new trial fitted the audi's for a measure up on spacers and adapters played with my spacers i allready had for a rough idea of what id need, 20mm: looked pretty good to me, then i tried the rear this was with a 25mm spacer :/ i think i was going to need a little more spacing this was with the 20 and 25mm spacer on at the same time, more like it! i decided to order a set of 25mm adapters in the end theres still more to come but thanks for reading, comments welcome as allways | |

I'm seriously thinking of swapping for something more economical than the vr atm. Maybe something similar to one of these thanks for your kind words i like the dash but its got some bad bits on it where its been flocked and its a nightmare to clean, id really need to get my door cards done too to match but its not going to happen so im going to strip it out again..and put in my standard dash back in with the cream bits agen the polo isnt too bad on fuel, good on long trips but town runs it gets thursty, quite nippy tho for what it is i think | |
