right guys i need to clean a head on my car as its full of old oil that is stuck to all the inside of the head so i was thinking what can i use to
get this off as im not taking the head off to do this maybe thinners or someting to spray on it to break it down and then a good flush through Thumbs up

You cant really do an amazingly decent job without the head off anyway. just get some engine flush would be my opinion, can be got from any place like halfords etc. I use it everytime i service the golf seems to get most of the crap out.


Edit just saw you said inside head cleaning :-) 298631 morning face palm.

Diesel would probably be best dude as its still really oily and wouldnt thin the new oil down if you dont get it all out, people fill gearboxes up with diesel to flush them so cant see why it would hurt an engine.


Flushing doesnt hurt turbos, lack of flushing THEN using flush could damage them because of the previous crud buildup then your flushing it out it will come out in lumps.
