| Hi my name is Si and i have just recently got THE G60 Edition one in burgundy pearl i have been eying up for the last god knows how long! It was originally one of my dads friends that lived in Luxembourg. He likes a bit of VAG as he owns An original RS4 and S4, and drives an RS6 as his daily! lucky B**tard! Anyway whilst driving along the Luxembourg motorway in the RS6 he got hi jacked at gun point and told to give over the keys!! i'd absolutely poop myself! He retrived to car about a month later but without any keys, which stupidly included the G60 imobiliser fob! So... basically because he never bothered to get the imobiliser fixed the car has been under wraps in Luxembourg for over 8 years UNTILL NOW!! I must admit i am a bit of a Lucky sod! I have known the owner for many years and alway talked of one day buying the car off him. to my surprise one day he called me and asked if would like the car! I couldn't believe it and to top it off he said i could have it for nothing as long as i organise everything to get it back to the UK!! The other part of the deal was that if i ever needed to sell i would give him first refusal! Here are teaser pics he sent me After these pics my legs did get a little shakey! Anyway off we went. Here are some pics: Giving the car a clean before getting it on the trailor. got to look good! Waiting in the que at the tunnel: Some cool pics at a shell garage: Finally got it home: Thanks for looking | |

and they are seriously addictive, loved mine Thanks for the link. I have only just started looking at forums and now i cant take my bloody eyes off them! My work performance is dramatically plumeting! lol Thanks for all your comments guys, much appreciated. I must say although i managed to get it for nothing i think with the amount of money that needs to be spent cleaning it up and fixing brokeness i could probably buy a really nice example! but i guess doing it yourself is the whole point of it!! just to clear up a few of your answers: It is an Edition One however the previous owner swapped the blue electric recaros with a grey leather interior from a previous g60 that he wrote off. Although the blue recaros are possibly the most comfy seats i have ever sat in i think i prefer the grey leather. goes much better with the paint colour. yes it does have aircon.

| Ok so heres the work done so far. Firstly needed to try and get the engine ticking over. we noticed that there was no fuel getting to the engine and found that the fuel pump was shot. so replaced it and literally on the first turn one cylinder at a time the engine started to run!! The one thing i cant get my head around is that the fan is continually staying on. has anyone else had a similar problem or know what this could be? any help would be appreciated. secondly though i would strip the interior out and give it a good clean as it smelt a bit musty inside i left the passenger side carpet in as i would have needed to take a lot more of the dash out to free it. we clean out the fuel tank before putting in the new pump Looking around there does not seem to be much rust at all which is good. After taking out the interior i thought it would be a good time to run any wire i need for my little install and do a little sound proofing. i wasn't prepared to justify buying 'Dynamat' so thought id create my own i used a combination of thermal foil wrap and 5mm self adhesive underlay. I tried to use it everywhere with double layers under the carpets I placed the thermal wrap at the bottom with the self adhesive underly over the top. I also managed to get hold of some audioscape door pods which i think look really nice. My Ice Spec: - Alpine INA-N033r single din navigation headunit - Alpine G type 17cm front coaxial speakers - Alpine R type 6"x9" Rears (Just bought a blank parcel shelf so these will have to go) i dont really like the look of 6x9. - Alpine E type 4"x6" rears to replace rubish originals - Apline S type slim 10" sub built in subtle carpeted fibreglass boot box (looking to DIY it soon) - Mutant 300w amp istalled in left rear quater panel. Its only a smallish system but i think it sounds pretty desent. whilst writing this i went out and had a little blast and i must admit when i disconnected the 6 x 9s it sounded a bit poop out back so might have to keep them in for a while till i sort out my mini boot build. Some of you may like to shoot me as i did actually have the whole blue recaro interior including all carpets, parcel shelf, the lot. in absolutely mint condition as well.... but aahhumm SOLD IT I know it is best to keep these cars together i just didnt like the blue. and actually you dont see many aubergine g60's with grey leather so i kept that in. plus got a solid £950 for it which helps massively. Thats about it for now. i am just about to strip the engine down and send various parts off to Jabba for reconditioning. plus get a little tune. Ill update as i go. Thanks for looking | |

| the fan could be something to do with the air-con or it could be the radiator fan switch, most g60 owners put the lower temp one in when they replace it along with a low temp thermostat as g60's tend to run a bit hot. i know your'e going to use jabba but i cant recomend Rob and Darren at g-werks enough, they are very helpfull even when just asking them a question. i spent 14months building mine and got it upto about 240+ bhp so if you have any questions or want to know where to get certain bits just give us a shout. | |

Thanks that would be great! yes i think you may be right about the fan switch. i have read a couple of people comment on that. will have to source one and try it out. thanks. well i haven't made a final decision about where to take it. i have heard good thing about both although people do seem to favour g-werks and say there after sales service is brilliant. it was only as jabba is a bit closer. After contemplating what is the best strategy i have decided to take the front end to bits! because it will need most of the parts removing for a refurb i decided i might aswell go for it. I will be putting some updates on soon so watch this space.
