| I'am the loving your attention to detail that you've put in on this project mate I also like that you have'nt followed the trend into making your wheels as wide as you possible can. Think you've hit the OEM+ bang on the head | |

| Car looks good now you have used the polisher on it. Was it your first time doing it? And also where did you get the polisher kit from? | |

Yes was first time. you cant really go wrong. because its a dual action polisher the head is always moving over the paint work where as a rotary polisher, if left in the same place for too long can burn through the paint. I got the kit from Monza car care. I went all out at got the ultimate kit but you prob only need the starter kit really. heres the link: Polishing KitsIt seemed pretty well priced and it comes next day. | |

| Ok been a while since i updated this thread..... Bad news i'm affraid! back in early December i went for a spin and on the way back i booted it up a slip road only to see a mass of whitish smoke spewing out the back. I then proceeded home on 3 cylinders. not good. opened the bonnet to find oil everywhere! We werent quite sure what had happened but we knew it wasnt good. after some advice from the guys at jabba we came to the conclusion that one of the pistons could have gone. so we then reluctantly started to disassemble the engine. this is what we found..... Good cylinder... The damage... as you can see the piston has melted and has scored the bore! So.... the plan now is to take the engine block and head upto jabba to get a rebore with new wossner 82.5mm pistons. (will increase the capacity a bit) new little end and shells, new gaskets all round, all injectors serviced, new windage tray, and to also get the head stripped and rebuit. It will then get all put back together ready to slot straight in. also going to chuck in a chip and 68mm pulley for good measure. It is going to be a bit of a kick in the nuts on the money front but hopefully it will be like brand new when complete and i will get a solid engine running about 210bhp. Prob looking at about march till its ready to go again.. Oh well maybe it was a blessing in disquise as at least it went near home and not at the other end of the country. Ill keep you posted on progress. thanks Si | |

| Been a while since i updated this... The time came to decide what we were going to do with this bad boy. so after brewing up the options we decided we would leave it to jabba to sort out! lol. The engine is going to be rebored to 82.5mm with new wossner pistons, Big End Shells, Main Bearing Shells, Small End Bearings, Oil Pump, Windage Tray, Oil Seals, Gasket Set etc etc. They also have the head which they are going to have to skim. when its all done and put back together i will be getting a 68mm pulley and get it chipped to hopefully get a solid 200bhp. Heres some pics... A bit depressing to see this as we had put a lot of work into it all ready, but i hope to get it back up running better than ever! Hopfully will be a reasonably quick turn around Thanks Si | |
