| Thanks for all your comments guys, much appreciated! Right time for a small update... Ok so got home the other day and these were waiting for me! KW Variant 1's - Lovely Juberly!! Got the rears on Also fitted some new rear calipers, Brembo discs and Goodridge braided hoses. Wanted to get them on and get the car on the road so didnt really clean up and paint the surrounding bits. However as i have now decided to go all out i will be giving them a proper clean up soon. No pics of the stance yet and looks like will be a while too. Ok so back to the front end. The main reason for now taking it all apart was because i have an ABS problem. we managed to work out that the pump wasnt running at all so decided to take out the whole brake master cylinder, pump etc. The pump itself (which you cant see) was completely sized so need to find a new pump. At the present time i have started to take the rest of the bits off. here is some of my progress. very slow at the min! This is where the bad bits start to show their little scrawny faces! Nuts Anyone??! Found loads of the f*ckers. Think the bloody squizzers have been having a rave up under the bonnet! Eh Oh..... Here comes the Rust! Hopefully wont be too hard to repair. So basically thats where i am at at the mo. If the bloody weather hold up for more than 1minute i might be able to get some more done. I tell you what though it you want a decent work out try unbolting engine parts on a car sat around for 10 years. I recon i would have had it stripped by now!! Thanks For Looking | |

| Ok time for another update... Got the supercharger off and surrounding brackets including the inlet manifold. they have now been sent off to jabba for a bit of TLC. This has given me about 1 month to get the bay ready for when the supercharger comes back. So here are a few pics taken along the way. as you can see proper cruddy all round! Started to sand down and spray as many bits that i could. little before and after. Some of the other bits cleaned up and painted Some of the intercooler before After Cleaned off all the original wax, sanded and sprayed the sides and turrets. Painted the engine block and surrounding areas with some engine enamel paint. coming up really nice. Added new water pump and new oil cooler. Plus painted more of the engine and gearbox. coming together now! Started cleaning some of the cables and wires first with a cloth and then rubbed some 'back to black' on them. (never leave home without that stuff! lol) Added some flame retandant rubber around the cables and wires. will be doing as much as poss to tidy all the wires up. I also spent pretty much the whole of sat cleaning all the crud of the back of the engine bay and giving it a polish up. ripped about half the skin off my arm in the process. real hard graft. Was getting a bit pissed off with it at one point as it felt like it was going backwards and backwards but it is starting to look really nice now and cant wait to get home from work and do some more cleaning! very addictive! thats it for the min. will be putting up a few more updates very soon. Thanks for looking. | |

Well the original paint was peeling off so i sanded it all off, bit of plastic primer and then some silver paint. i actually used 'Simoniz Alloy wheel silver'. It is pretty good stuff. used it on all the silver bits. i did spray lightly over the fins aswell which i dont know if you should do but i think it should be alright. looks a damn sight better than it did!

Thanks for the comments. yeah couldn't believe how many wires there are! Was a bit scary at first taking bits off but you soon see where connectors etc go when puting them back on.

| Ok Little update.... Started to make a few more bits look nice and pretty. The slam panel had some rust but wasn't in bad nick so just decided to spray the top. sanded it down, primed and painted in a nice satin black. Pretty happy with how it came out. Got some nice new headlights and spots. cleaned up the grill as well and fitted the lights. Managed to get a new rad... Had a little test fit along with the intercooler... I also managed to get hold of a new aircon unit from germany which i stuck on to make sure everything was sitting properly. Fitted a new cam belt as well so nearly there. Still waiting for the supercharger and rocker cover to come back though :( once these bits are back i think we will be ready to crank it up! Cant wait, been too long! thanks for looking. | |

| Haven't updated this for a while so here goes..... Well went and got the charger & cam cover from Jabba. Many thanks to Brian. Done a great job. Fistly the charger..... Jabba Stage 4 Rebuild B) Grubby Pully but that all got cleaned up. A chip and pulley is planned but just want to get the beaut running first. Got the slam panel on. I thinks its time for a little before and after...... Before AFTER!! And..... With a twist of the Key.. Vrroooooommm. The baby fired up!! Had a little water leak that we sorted out and I think the timing needs a little adjusting but other than that happy days. Just got to clean up some of the plastic surrounds the i think thats about it for the engine. Next stop. Wheels... Need to get a few things sorted for the MOT and some bits to change to get it on UK plates. need to get my wheels sorted and some new tyres. so.... though id do up a spare set of RM's i have hanging about in my garage! The centres are pretty good so i think i am just going to do a quick and cheap refurb and just replace the lips with new 1" alluminium ones. heres a few pics And a little spank with the mallet. they all popped off Ordered the new lips, valves, complete centre badges with silver surround and a new set of deluxe mats from JustMatz. Spoke to a guy called Dave who was very friendly and helpfull. The wheel bits are due to arrive about this time next week which gives me enough time to clean all the wheels up. so.... got some little pressies in the post there only 1" all round but trying to keep it looking OEM. So had a busy evening putting them all on. Got the wheels ready and cleaned up. Decided not to respray them as the centres where pretty good. I started by adding a bead of gear around the inner recess... And also ran some over the holes Placed the new lips on the wheel and gave them a little twist to make sure we got a good smeering. Started to put the bolts on. I use the existing BBS bolts which were in pretty good nick. The also had a slight gold look to them whch i guess was some sort of plating? nickle perhaps? I then used a screw gun to speed up the process. i just se it on a low torque setting so i didnt have to worry about screwing them in too hard. I then tightened all the bolts up with a torque wrench. and VOILA.... The got the tyres on... standard 195/45/15 Toyo Proxies I tried to get a few pics with them on the car but it was dark so they didnt come out very well. Will get better pics up at the weekend. tried to get a few more pics of the car but due to taking them on a phone and that its bleeding dark their not brilliant. I recon its a little high at the back but need to let the susspension settle a little yet. the car is quite dirty at the min and has not really had a great clean. so......... Got myself some old birds cordial!... Went a little crazy to be honest and got the works. I figured in the long run i would spend more so just went for it. Will keep me busy for a few days thats for sure! Better pics coming soon. Thanks | |
