flushed everything through well? I had this problem on a caddy and it turned out to be a blocked rad, obviously been a problem for a while probably the reason the last owner took the stat out. Do you have another rad to try? If not i might have one about somewhere you could have cheap to try?

Best way to tell is feel the rad to see if its the same temp all over.

Also basic thing did you bleed the system well? Cap off, let it run, pump all the hoses with your hand heaters on full etc?

Back flush the system Tom, open the heater pipes and run the pressure washer through them both ways.
Do the same to the rad and bleed the system properly like Tiz says to, they are notoriously a pain in the bum to bleed up properly, sometimes it's the water pump dont jump to that conclusion till you have tried everything else.
If you can pressure the system before you get it hot this normally helps it bleed up and prevents an airlock.

Any probs give me a call.
I got a rad for a 1300 mk2 as to wether that would fit I dont know but I know it's clear.
Oh and can I have my torch back I've needed it twice so far this week.
