| Yea i have heard that with another one of the gearboxes, are they rivets that give way or something. Have been considering quaife but the amount of money at the time will decide that, as with a lot of other mods. | |

If you dont need instructions to use some tools, Yeah Give your desired gearbox a service, fit it up and see how she goe's. If it breaks then maybe spend the cash then

We can even hide it if you wished. Yeah, fingers crossed he'll get them posted asap otherwise it'll be a trip to cheltenham

| Is there no wiring whatsoever with running the R1 carbs then. That will make things a bit easier for me to understand then.
Been keeping an eye on ebay for R1 carbs and there is a few different sorts as some are also injected and some are throttle bodies but gona keep away from them as im guessing i will need some sort of ecu/electronic management.
TBH i am struggling to try and keep up with the parts i need to make everything work as it should with the sort of build im wanting to achieve. Have been reading a few threads on clubgti to try make things clearer but some of it is confusing me more lol. Am definately learning alot, when i first considered the conversion didn't think there would be so much work, most of it due to wanting to tune it up to make noticably quicker than the standard 16v.

| You want the older r1 carbs mate. They swapped to TB's on the newer bikes. You'd need standalone management for those. Some zx9r carbs went for 41 notes yesterday | |

| Dude, just ask me for any info you need, I won't bite! Already done the research so just fire away and don't panic its any easy conversion.... You wont need many mods on an ABF with Bike Carbs after a rolling road session | |

| ok cheers Simon, much appreciated. I cant decide how much i want to do yet engine wise. I would really like to achieve is 200+bhp but unsure whether to tune head and lairy cams etc.. Would standard internals be OK if im pushing just over 200bhp, im guessing they will be fine but want to make sure. And what would your opinion be on gearbox? Im thinking what lee suggested try and see what happen if it breaks quickly then think diffs etc Have make a mistake already though, the rocker cover (from an autojumble for a fiver) i have started on painting is different to the one on the engine Didn't realise there was different sorts till i read this http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=221231 | |

| Yes there are different rockers I'm afraid so stick with the one that's on your head! I did the same & have a KR sitting in the garage...
To achieve 200+ you will have to do the head at least mate. I know I got 202 on rollers but it can't be true although is probably 180+ compared to other quick mk1s I've owned. I would do the head and look into cams if you have £ to do it. That will be my next investment too.
With the gearbox side just fit an 020 box and punish it and see what happens! Mines ok for now but I do have spares in the garage like Lee said!!!
