i have a mate with a rallye which we are putting a 20vt in, so ive got the old engine out of it and ill put that in when i can afford the insurance its got a blown supercharger though, so i will either have to source a new one or probably turbo swap it | |

| went and picked up the alternater bracket which a local hero milled down for me this is it before, just the bracket must have weighed about 5kgs if carlsberg made alternater brackets; | |

| still cant get it to start
im pretty sure its the coil
now you put the key in a buzzing noise sounds and the starter doesnt even crank ;-(
before it at least cranked over on the starter.
also some smoke came out of somewhere
so i am not f*****g happy.
the coil doesnt seem to be earthed directly, is it meant to be? | |

i checked all the coil wiring and it wasnt quite right, so i fixed it, also it turns out i forgot to earth it ;-( so i fixed that and now it turns over but still doesnt start im going to put the old coil on and see what happens. im also going to test the leads and hope that solves it | |

| the dizzy and cap are new, but the leads and plugs are about 25k old but the leads are thick performance ones and the plugs are NGK
so i dont think its them
