| what is the cheapest engine that would fit into my mk2 golf, i mean anything, any sort of engine that would get it on the road till i could get a proper engine, anybody got any ideas? | |

| buy an MOT failure mk2 golf and swap everything over
go for something with a carb engine unless your happy to get underneath and swap tanks to run injection | |

| doesnt a 1.3 a have different design than a 1.6 or 1.8.
someone told me they do....i have no knowledge other wise as i have never owned one.
if they are similar then a 1.6 or 1.8 could be a straight swap | |

| nope in the mk2 it's all the same chassis, the gearbox is different though so if you buy a whole car it would all just bolt in, what ever it is. | |
