| 1.8T They are newer so are generally more reliable if the dual mass flywheel isnt fucked. Plus with mapping and a few extra bits you can really up the BHP | |

| Yeah but if you get an engine swap now you have to have the work cleared by another garage. So if you have to take it somewhere then spending the extra on the 1.8T engine is worth it in the long run | |

| that sound good billy, but what about mpg? as with those fuel prices its pretty hard to drive, i was thinking about saving money for a GTTDI from mk4golf, the 130bhp one, sam has it in his golf and even when hes doing 130mph the mpg does not go below 43, | |

| if you have the carb set up decently mpg wont be too bad, its what i had planned for my golf but i never had the money. i was also gonna suggest a td, joe had a 1.9 td lump in his caddy from a mk3, and mpg were great and with the boost wound up a bit had some very impressive power | |

Makes no odd's mate. You can use your original loom to make it run then. Rather than pulling fuel lines off to empty the tank of petrol, run the car til its in the red then brim the tank with diesel. The remnants of the petrol will be that thinned out that it wont be a prob | |
