oh good, turns out when someone tells you your car is running on schedule and it will be complete before the set date so you will be able to have it the day before, they actually mean that they have no idea what they are talking about and the car is infact still being prepped for painting and it will take another week before you see your car again...

in other words, im not getting it back tomorrow anymore...

Just kidding mate. This is what I told you about Mercedes but you didn't listen. They might make fancy swish cars and be all gangsta and what-not, but they employ chimps with forks for hands to do anything other than sell the cars.

it's starting to do my nut in to be honest mate, in my current mood, all i want to do is sell it when it comes back, but i know when i do get it i'll be happy again...

bodyshop moron said the car should be done on Tuesday, but then again it was supposed to be on Wednesday the 2nd October...

it's not a merc garage, they had the car sent to a bodyshop specialist over in Bishop Stortford, Hilton Coachworks I think mate!

so the car didn't come back today, as per usual something wasn't quite right and have been told (for the 5th time) that i will definitely be getting my car back tomorrow, just intime for the meet, although it looks like i can't make that anyway... so today has been a pretty shite day!

Just got back from Cambridge Mercedes - in my car!!!!!!!! At last!

Going to have a good look tomorrow as im at work now, but i can now get back to all the stuff i want for this after 7 weeks without!

how the car looks at the moment:





had it tinted out with dark tint on the rear and a light tint at the front, you can hardly tell it's done in the sunlight!

Got myself a bargain grill today on good ol' ebay, so as long as that arrives by the weekend, the car should have a nice new blacked out front by next week, doing the lights too.

Also going to test fit some wheels we have in our shed to see if it's worth getting new rubber for them or selling them on for something different.

Hopefully have some new pics by sunday.

Very little to say about this apart from for my birthday, as im now going to be working alot in the car and on the road, i had a parrot MKi9100 kit fitted into the car.

It syncs up beautifully with my BlackBerry and also has iPod/USB/3.5mm jack input and full voice dial.

Im going to move some stuff about and have the iPod dock hidden in one of the doors but apart from that, im happy as Larry with it.

i bet you listen to radio 1.....

haha, i don't actually, just the radio needs to be on so the phone and iPod can go through the speakers!

oop, another little update...

I ordered some Lamin-x the day before yesterday and it arrived yesterday, so in my lunch today i thought i'd have a go. It turns out i cant read a tape measure and therefore didn't order enough, but i have got enough to do the centre lights.

So after 5 mins, this is how they looked:





Also, my number plate fell off in Soham, and while re-attaching it, i notice 4 screws on the plinth, so i grabbed a phillips and took it off, all i need is a tiny bit of filler and some paint to have a nice smooth front bumper! well chuffed about that!





If they are still for sale when i get back from France on Sunday, im going to look at some new wheels too, so fingers crossed there!

looks wicked m8 specially when you get the headlights too. what shade lamin-x is that?

Im going to order more for the headlights tomorrow, and probably do the fogs and wing mirror repeaters with window tint as it's thinner and easier to do...probably.

im tempted to ghetto ting the rears with some fish nets, but that will have to wait a bit as i can't be arsed.

and you sure you have to have your radio on for the parrot?mine works fine with or without the radio on.

looks good fella......i love Merc's in black!!!...........do you have to remove the lights when fitting the film and is it 100% MOT legal...??....smoothed bumper finishes is off nicely.

Actually it's GunSmoke, my bad! And yeah, im pretty sure it only works with the radio on, having said that, i haven't tried it without - ahh, Liam, thanks for that

cheers mate, im starting to really fall in love with this car!

no i didn't have to take off the lights, with the bonnet up you can get round about 70% of the lamps edge. Im not sure how legal it is, i might use a lighter smoke on the main headlight - but having said that, all the light comes out the same as it did without tints!

it's 100% legal nelds, says on the lamin-x site as the light still comes out white, or orange in the case of indicators.

i really want toget pulled for them soon lol

so i rolled these out of our shed today and thought i'd see what they look like next to the car, they just need new tyres and longer bolts - 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 genuine SL55 AMG wheels - what do you think?

i think a couple cans of trusty satin black will make it all good
