How hard is this to do i have a whole new arm so i dont have to worry about splitting the other one into two... is this job better done on a ramp or possible my using jacks?

I think you can do it using jacks and axle stands of course. I had done the ones on my previous Mk4 but used a ramp at work.

Make sure you got something to secure the CV boot back on with. I think big jubliee clips are best as the boot is plastic not rubber. To get it undone turn the sterring to full lock on the side your doing and slide the boot down the arm to gain access to the big nut. They never seemed very tight when i done them either
