Righty time to finally clarify how many oil senders I should have! here is my oil cooler, as you can see it has just the one oil pressure sender, this bottom end is from a pre 1990 car, my old bottom end from my 1991 car had 2 senders. should there be 2 on the cooler I have now?

You Peanut! Rolling Eyes

look at the casing again and you'll see the allen head bolt thats been used to replace a sendor. Take it out and put it back to how it used to be

yeah like lee says just undo that and put the sensor in

You currently have a high pressure sensor(white in that connects to a yellow and red wire

You need a low pressure sensor(black) And you should connect a blue wire to it.

GET A VW SENSOR dont even contemplate a GSF sensor they are useless i bought 2 and neither of them worked, got a VW one and it worked perfect first time

cheers boys! thats just how it came from the breakers yard.and as I had not seen one from a pre-90 engine I had no idea how it was supposed to be. it's a miracle that I managed to get the bloody thing up and running again tbh! I have no mechanical experience at all, only what I picked up from having a go and all I did when I started the bottom end change was take pics of everything and started to unbolt stuff till it came out!santa scratch geek mystery solved! thanks again chaps! I owe you a beer or four!cheers
