| because the oil pressure is low? lol worn pump gears? blocked pickup pipe? low oil level?
Although they are well known for phantom alarms with oil lights and buzzers, get the actual pressure checked first.

| As said above, check that you are getting any pressure first, have a look and see whats going on in the head. Make sure you charger isn't dry when your checking....
It could be either low or high pressure too. Check your wires etc

| Mk1 are also quite common for doing this and quite often the actual clocks that are bugged mine sometimes does it for a couple minutes and stops again. | |

| NOT ALL SORTED! I pulled the sump off and cleaned the oil pump pick up off, I thought that had solved it, but it hasnt. i took the oil pump out and it looks almost new; and the cleaned pickup; put it back in, but didnt prime it properly, instead i just popped the kinglead out and turned it over a couple of times but the oil light and buzzer are still on! what should i do next? | |

| Sorry to be thick but did you swap out the pressure senders on the head and the oil cooler ?
I have known them both to cause this.
Stop clutching at straws and get the oil pressure read.
When you know what pressure it's making then you have a chance of tracing it down from there.
I know it doest really help but should point you where you need to go.

Put a new sender on and its made no difference ;-( oil pressure reads about 22psi at idle which i think is a bit high? then it slowly goes down as the oil warms up the pressure goes up as the engine revs the oil pressure light on the clock flickers as you rev it what should i check/do now?

| Where abouts are you taking the pressure reading from? I've been taught where possible to take it from as far from the pump as you can.. Id probably expect around 2 bar at 2000rpm when its warm | |

Id probably expect around 2 bar at 2000rpm when its warm so the pressure at idle seems reasonable then? the reading is taken from the pressure gauge which comes off the top of the oil filter housing

the reading is taken from the pressure gauge which comes off the top of the oil filter housing Is just a sort of rough rule of thumb what i said, im not sure what the correct pressure is for one of these. But i wouldnt have thought it would be too different to that really.. If its got pressure then maybe wiring? bad earths prahaps? something not tight? Assuming its got correct amount and grade of oil ect. Not got any extra baffles welded in the sump? Not sure if that would cause it but just reeling off a few 'maybes'

Not sure if that would cause it but just reeling off a few 'maybes' i was always taught you want about 0.7 bar per thousand revs thats all im almost 100% its my wiring but i dont know what else to check!
