| hi basically my oil light came on so i got out and there was smoke. i started to take the engine apart to find there was oil in my air filter. took it to guy and he cleaned the oil pump and the light was still on. so drove it back and it took soooooo bloody long for euro car parts to order 1 so i looked up the part numbers and the 1.5 mk1 oil pump was the same as the 1.6 mk2 oil pump so i changed the top of it and kept the original bottom to the oil pump only to find out it still didnt help.
any ideas what to do now?

| basically done a compression test on my engine to make sure the rings were ok still and they were fine and were all 130 so then changed the oil pump and oil filter etc. cleaned out the breather (but could only find 1 so if any1 knows where they both r that would be some great info) but still the oil light is on so does any1 have any suggestions?
cheers would really appreciate it as im pulling my hair out!

| Jack, I've been thinking about this for a while now and you have me stumped.
Let me get this right... you''ve changed, the pump, the oil, the filter , the sensors.
It doesnt leave much else really, short of there being a blockage in one of the galleries I just dont know mate.
I have to admit I suspect a blockage as the pressure was so high on the gauges. Seeing as the car was fine a year ago and its done nothing except sit there all that time.
Odd.
