| was driving my vw mk1 1.6d caddy today when i went to change gear there was no tension on the clutch pedle, it was just moving really easily so i thought i had snapped the clutch cable but when i look it was fine and is still attached. think its the bit that connects to the gearbox? any help please would be great. cheers luke | |

| First , have you checked that it hasnt gone at the bulk head......( mk1's are notorious for pulling the cable through).... | |

| dont think thats the problem, the bit that the cable is clamped to in the engine bay moves up and down very freely and loselyand doesnt feel like its doing any thing when i do move it and before im sure it was a lot stiffer. | |

| mine did that once mate and it had bent the clutch release plate just enough to stop the pushrod releasing the clutch. Maybe i shouldnt have mentioned a new clutch must have jynxed it lol. maybe planning that 5 speed conversion sooner then lol | |

| yeah defo! trouble is i cant move the truck until i sort it out. think it might be the leaver bit that has broken off hopefully be able to sort it | |

| i can probably get it on my dolly mate if you want to get it here for the box and new clutch now by the looks of it lol
edit : just remembered how low it is lol. I could tow it back i guess? | |

| its seriously low mate, its on 13's and slammed. sumps about 30mm of floor, i'l have a look in the morning and if i cant sort it might have try and get it on your dolley! | |

| is the clutch stuck engaged or disengaged? Cause you could always crash box it here if its engaged as the gearbox is getting changed anyway so doesnt matter about damaging it. | |
