| Hey peeps Just wondered if anyone could tell me the difference between a 4-2-1 aftermarket 16v conversion manifold and the 4-1 one? Cheers M.. | |

| Reply from Dubgen: The 4 -1 has 4 pipes that run into the collector, then a single pipe that runs down the car into the various back boxes etch. The 4 - 2 - 1 runs 4 pipes from the manifold a short distance to a collector then 2 pipes to a 2nd collector (like a standard MKII GTI system) and finally 2 into 1 that runs down the centre of the car etc. I think that the principal of the 4-2-1 is that gas flow is slightly greater than the 4-1.

| No probs. The longer the inlet/exit tract the more torques is produced. There's alot of witchcraft you can do with numbers and funny shaped letters to work it all out but thats beyond my knowledge I'm afraid. | |

| Yep I'd go that way tbh. There wouldn't be a notable difference between the 2 systems unless the engine had some head work and was running a lairy cam. | |
