Cheers for the comments Paul at Tinkler Bros (my sponsor) is porting my head for me. He has used some sort of metal drill bit to get the majority of the excess metal out...then will be using a die grinder to polish the ports. In terms of how much we are removing we used the exhaust manifold gaskets (which fit the manifold perfectly) as a template and then taking out enough metal to match the ports to the exhaust manifold. At the same time we have used a wire brush attachment on a pillar drill to remove the crap off the valves. Paul should be porting tyeness's head and possibly Caddyrage's after mine...so if you were interested i am sure that Paul could give you a price if you didn't want to do it yourself...or if you did want to do it yourself I am sure if you popped in for a chat he could talk you through what he is doing

| Dont be making your ports too big or you lose air speed , big ports arent the name of the game, well shaped ones with no obstructions are. If your not having bigger valves put in you dont need massive ports. Is the drill bit attachment hes using a carbide cutter? | |

Might be dude, not sure. He had done a few of his own cars, and used to work for williams f1 and one of the touring car teams so knows what he's doing Thanks for the advice though.

| Got some more done last night...stayed later at the garage and tackled the engine bay wiring....just forgot to take a pic before i started where you can see the wiring close up...needless to say anyone who had seen my engine bay will know it was a mess. This is what i stated with...can just about see the mess and after 1 - 1.5 hrs this is what i was left with You can't really see from the pics...but i guarantee it looks a million times better (oh and the electrical tape is to satisfy the scrutineers at Santa Pod) the die grinder finally turned up on Monday...so the head went from like this last week to this yesterday...with just the polishing to go All ports are matched to the corresponding manifolds And the Classics sold yesterday...so until i get back tonight for the new tyres...this is how she will be rolling | |

| a small update... No carbs today, the guy im getting them from put them back together and found the bearings for the throttle had a minute amount of play in them and wasnt happy with that so has some new bearings coming for them. He hopes to have them rebuilt and be happy with them over the weekend. To be fair though im getting a bargain so dont mind waiting a little longer | |
