Mot till october and tax till may, central locking alarm etc etc.. 130,000 miles the engine is sweet and it goes off the clock so definately a good one.

Looked like this when i got it :

Roll-A-Rat Gti Front
Roll-A-Rat Gti Rear

Then after 2 days of messing around and fitting bits i had laying around, coilovers etc etc. looks like this:

Roll-A-Rat Gti Business032-1
Roll-A-Rat Gti Business033-1

Done a few more bits to it.. Forgot to mention the ratty style wont be here long.. Come summer i will be respraying her and she will probably be rocking some BBS RMs... yes i know im a sheep but they look sick so yeah lol... anyway while funds are low lol :

Roll-A-Rat Gti Business044
Roll-A-Rat Gti Business042

Roll-A-Rat Gti Business035

120mm coilovers wound all the way down... And thought i would jump on the bandwagon and add some rear negative camber

Roll-A-Rat Gti Business038.

Fixed a water leak, sorted out the stupid plug leads and a few other little niggles and the engine runs sweet as now, absolutely flys and goes straight off the clock and keeps going no problems.

Me and joe decided it needed a hotrod style shifter as its gonna be rat rod style more than the usual dub rats you see.. So things are starting to develop a bit more american.. REALLY needs an oldskool wheel to pull the shifter off properly but im loving it so far... Broken torque wrench =

Roll-A-Rat Gti Business093
Roll-A-Rat Gti Business092

In other news, at the show yesterday it was decided it wasnt low enough and a bit of a sniffer look was needed lol so out came the front assister springs and the arches were pulled so we could get some lock on it.. Dont have any pics of the arches etc but its pretty low at the front now... Last night taking joe back to cambridge we saw a massive white object in the middle of the road but it was too late we both freaked out when we hit it and dragged it for a couple of hundred yards, got out and found out it was some massive bird that had been killed in the road, hit it doing like 80mph and it was pretty scary lol.. damn low cars, bent my splitter, moved the exhaust and dented the sump.

Right, Everybody, I have officially had enough for rat look.. I didnt understand lee when he said rat look is doing nothing for him at the minute but i know what he means now i am actually fed up of this little phase and tbh im going to jump OFF the bandwagon.... Over the next couple of weeks the golf is going to under go a make over going to sort as many dents as possible, a few minor bits of smoothing and the golf is going to go Bright metallic Blue(Very rare 16v GTi colour) shot over a diamond white base so the blue should really pop. The makeover will start tomorrow and as i will be working on it for a whole week for MANY hours it should be done by next weekend which will be perfect to get the golf out of the dub shed and put em-dubs's rocco in.

Although.... I REALLY do love a white golf... so do i go diamond white or deep metallic blue? Putting a Poll up in VAG chit chat in a minute, please vote.

not going to spray it till after the meet now, waiting for better weather to come and for me to have more money so i can do it properly rather than a quick job that will disappoint me. BUT i have done a lot of tidying up on it today to make it a lot less ratty. Pics to follow.

Decided that the Orange trims didnt really suit the colour anymore... So decided to clean the wheels up and satin black them with a couple coats of laquer Smile. Also rewelded my exhaust hanger so it hangs a bit lower and stops it rubbing on the back. Welded up my front mount so thats now solid makes a massive difference to throttle response and doesnt add much more vibration.
