project rust bucket - mk1 caddy

getting there mark, seems like a long time ago i was at this stage too! ule get there and all the hard work will be worth it

my biggest problem is finding the time as it gets dark so early and ive only got the drive to work on.

not like you with your garage!

hoping to get the bay and the interior ready for paint before the summer, than i get started on the fun bit, the back end

I recon you should try and work in a 911 style filler flap on the wing.


I've been flat out with work mate. Been up scotland all this week, but trying to get back in time for the meet.

I expect a shout out when this is featured mate for laying some nice pigeon sh1te weld in the bay

haha i think you need to keep that spare wing you used to practice as a stark reminder of how poop you was a welding

been working on the caddy a bit more today, heres some photo's;

engine bay is done for now, next stage is filler but its too cold for that, so just chucked some paint on to stop it rusting



just to remind myself that all that work HAS made a difference!



my chassis legs were rusted under the engine mounts so i have cut the rot out and welded new metal in



started cutting the bed out this afternoon before it got too dark. seems a shame to cut such a straight bed up but its for a good cause!

what colour you gonna paint it?

this colour or osmething simillar, will probly have changed my mind by the time i get to that stage tho

you cut your mounts off.... How you gonna mount your engine dude? Rope?

duuuude if u can drill the spot welds out take the bed out in a big piece then ile buy it off u to make mine more mint, other wise ile have to go for option 2, which is secret but expensive

all the effort is worth it in the long run, especially once u see a picture of how it all started when u got her home. keep up the good work fellow caddy owner

cutting the bed out wasnt a big deal cos of what i have planned. had a little bit of a bad feeling in the back of my mind but just went for it.

dont get anywhere if your not brave!

cut most of the bed out today, and got the doors and screen out.

really looking forward to getting started on the serious work!

how well did the bed come out m8, did it come out in good enough bits to salvage some of it for repair panels n stuff?

that tr7 looks abit close to the prized caddy lol

got some big sections out that i think joe wants for his caddy.

came out easy enuff apart from griding like a retard so i dont get sparks on the triumph. ugly pile of crap!
