Removing mk3 Golf wings

Are the front wings on a mk3 relatively easy to get off or are they so cocooned in underseal that you end up damaging them taking them off (like the mk2!!)? I spy rust and I want to get after it!

Easy peasy mate.

Take off the grill,
Take out the indicators and fake lenses.
Undo the four 13mm bolts facing you.
Undo the 10mm bolts that go upwards under the bumper
Undo the 10mm bolts that go downwards ontop of the bumper.
Undo the clips in the front of the wheel arches.

Pull the bumper off.
Remove the arch plastic linings (8mm bolts)

Undo the 10mm bolts along the top of the wing, bottom of the wing, only two inside (one top one bottom) front of the wing ( on drivers side Undo the vacuum accumalator and the bonnet earth strap (10mm+13mm)

Pull the wings off.

The wing on my mk3 was bonded to the inner wing. bent it a treat removing it, luckily I was replacing it anyway

As with nearly every car built within the last fifty years, you will find some kind of fugitive paste.
It's easy enough to remove the wing without resorting to gorilla tactics.
This one's definitely a time when brains beats brawn.
