Well today I tackled swapping my centre consoles over for my one to accept the gauges, I also picked up a nice alpine headunit for it too.

Epic picture quality but you get the idea:

Still wanted to keep the 12v so...
Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00140

Ill be putting a grommet on the i pod cable once I have run the rest though.

Helper for the day!

Got the boot finished and ready for paint:

Then this happened:
Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00147

After being highly smug and happy I had remove it in one peice I went to put it in a place where it wouldnt be damaged, caught it with the side of my knee as I stepped over something and FAAAAACK!

Trying to win the TW@ of the day award over Joe it seems Laughing

Today progress:

Sold the exhaust that was on it as it wasnt to my liking. Picked this up this evening:
Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00162

The boot/rear is now painted:
Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00160

Also decided the front p/s front door wasnt in a condition to save, picked up a mint door that now just needs prep and paint.
Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00159

I'll get the exhaust fitted tomorrow and the boot flatted back and re fit the bumper and plate, maybe even treat it to a good wash Cool

The sebrings are for sale too...

Today saw the boot finished bar fine flatting when I get some 3000 grit. Also got the new exhaust on just needs the flange welded on to couple up with the four branch which will be done when the scuttle is done on Friday. Also got the old door off and stripped. I'll get on with prepping the new one tomorrow. Finally starts on the button thanks to a VR6 starter motor, compression you say? Laughing

Please excuse the dusty handprints Very Happy

So today I went about fitting these:
Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00168

I had some clear laminx left over from the a6 so I thought it would be rude not to do these.

Next up was prepping the new passenger door:

Some blocking later:

So yesterday saw Guy weld up the new exhaust system and remove the rotted LHD wiper hole. I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00188

Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00189

Needless to say i'm chuffed. Just a quick skim of filler needed.

Meanwhile I decided to run a cold air feed to the air box:
Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00178

Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00179

I also had an old set of fooked fogs sitting about so i removed the glass and unscrewed the backs and voila:
Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00181

Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00182

I do need to make a section to fit between the foglight and the bumper but thats no biggie ^_^

Also a mate got hold of this for me that was of a 4x4 that strangely fits on a mk2 very well just need to make some tabs for it but means no holey sumps Laughing

Alpine Mk2 - Page 2 DSC00180

Also took the ecu apart and fitted this:

So it's been a bit quiet with this as of late, i've filled, primered and finished the scuttle awaiting the windscreen to be refitted. Since the weather is nice out today i'll pull it out the garage and get the door in colour hopefully. Aiming to be finished by the middle of the week, then just got to insure it and tax it which i'll do at the start of June.

Cant wait.

Anyway pictures to follow..
