| oh yes please what's involved? do they need to sand down to metal, then powder coat and hey presto? I've heard it's supposed to be quite hard wearing and leave a decent finish? | |

That will be morley brothers. They are pretty good. You cant go far wrong with powder coating. Just your choice of colors is somewhat limited | |

| i dont rate powdercoating rims tbh, if you curb them or get a chip it all starts flaking off and you cant just touch it in.... With paint if you curb them you can just rub down the rim and repaint etc. I would never go with rims that are fully powder coated again. | |

| hi right, powder coating is a cheap, cheap paint system, you would be better having them done in wet, more choise of colours, will last a lot longer,a bit more in cost, but you pay for what you get...powder will soften with petrol, thiiners and brake fluid, when it chips it will flakes off.the best thing to do,bring them in we will have a look and do you a price. wet system,strip-blast-prime-flat-top coat powder system-strip-blast-kephos or etch prime-powder hope this helps | |

| wicked.
see I've heard powdercoating is more durable, but now tiz is saying obviously once you kerb it flakes etc i guess it makes sense..
have you any ideas on how much (obviously roughly) to powdercoat or paint a brand new wheel would cost?
I'll bring a wheel in sometime toga as I work just up the next junction on the a14 in histon..
thanks people | |
