| Hi all, I have started to remove the engine from the mk2 its a 1.8 8v, I have pulled the engine loom out and left the wiring loom in, but is this still ok to have with my abf conversion and what do I need for the conversion, can someone pls do me a list of parts. The engine bay will soon be bare apart from the loom so i need to know what I need for the whole conversion. Thanks | |

| You will need ,
engine, loom, ecu (dash loom if its got an immobiliser, transponder, immobiliser box) Immobiliser loom for steering column Gear box, Drive shafts. (you can use the 8v one but it will incorrectly geared and break in five minutes) Bigger brakes, Bigger master cylinder.
Short answer buy a donor car and just drop the subframe and bolt it back up.

| Soz for sounding really thick mate but does this mean that the mk3 subframe is same as mk2 and theres no messin around. what do i do then just plumb it all in and wire it up?

| Yeah subframe will fit, but mk3 wishbones will give you a wider track, so maybe not so good if you are running wide wheels | |

| I was wondering is it worth keeping the 8v bottom end and then converting it to 16v and turbo it??? Does nobody do this for a reason and if it was done then what power are we looking at? You must understand that I am 90% novice but I am a tryer and I do want to gain the experience and do alot of the work myself so as each project grows then so will my confidence Today I have been sorting some body work issues which I have sucessfully and proudly done with 100% achievement. I am good with power tools don't get me wrong but this is my first project and I need all the help I can get so that them shows are nearer with each day that passes. Cheers all | |
