| After installing my 16v kr engine from the engine shop, it has now decided it doesn't want to start. It still hasn't been setup and is on bike carbs. I've just done a compression test and it has come up with 30 - 70 - 80 - 75 going from cylinder 1 to 4. The engine has been totally rebuilt, but I have checked and the oil pump has not been changed. I don't know if the engine timing is correct either and wouldn't know where to begin to try and set it. Help me before I sell up and go jap | |

| Ok
Take it you have checked over the cambelt and the pulley positions?
Cams are lined up correctly?
Fuel set to 3psi and is getting to the carbs?
There's a notch on the dizzy where it mounts, if pointing directly up then this should atleast getting you firing. I take it you've checked for spark?
Some carbs need a little choke to get started from cold too

| The thing that's confusing me is I've had it running once already. It started up Saturday, but when I went to move it on Sunday it wouldn't start up. It just kept turning over. Should I be concerned with the compression figures?
The spark on the car is very weak after checking it.
Thanks | |

| Give it a couple of pumps on the throttle while turning her over then keep turning for another 5-10 seconds. If she still doen't fire then I would say you have a problem... Mine takes about 10 seconds depending on weather to start from cold and the about 1min to warm the carbs up for idle...
Do as lee says though, ask a mate to turn her over and change the position of the dizzy at same time. Obviously be carefull not to flood it! Good luck...
