| The time has nearly come to strip and paint the golf. I was thinking matt black hense the forum name. But have been thinking hard about it and i dont know if i want it matt black as its now a common colour. What is a nice. Bold and diffrent colour that you dont see many mk2s in?
And ideas will be thort about
Cheers guys | |

| Whatever colour makes YOU happy. You've gotta live with it everyday so make sure it's a colour you love, it doesn't matter if anyone else doesn't like it as long as your happy with it. | |

To common The paint on my capri green MK2 was real faint and dull, but after a few good cleans and coats of wax/polish it looks 1000 times better, give your car a real good clean and polish up and you never know you might come to like the colour, respraying a whole car is just ball-ache and £££ so it's not really worth it mate.

its easier to sort faded paint than respray a car. Common? how many other red small bumper mk2s are there on this forum? if you paint it a matt colour it will loose alot of value, keep it in its original colour and it will hold its value.

| I used to have a red small bumper mk2. the problem is solid colours like this weren't laqured from the factory and fade badly, especially if you've been anywhere near it with tfr truck wash, then it's probably gone pink. all it needs is a good machine polish and then a few coats of wax to help protect it then just keep ontop of the polishing, and once buffed use a wax to add layers of protection not t cut cause that will take layers off. have you guessed I want you to keep it red changing the colour and making it look good is such grief | |

| Whether or not it's 'different', only one person has to like it. Why do you need us to help you decide? Just get on with it, do what you want.

| Yeah it might of looked good but it was a pain in the arse to clean and maintain if ur car has faded its red they all fade but with some tlc wash and polish, tcuts etc it should come out mint and this way u dont devalue ya car and if u paint it it might look gash jus look at tht other matt black mark 2 looked terrible | |
