| Did a 4 hour+ trip to grimsby and back last night to collect this 2 litre 9A 16v engine along with a box of gubbins including Brand new head bolts, cambelt, 2x head gaskets, inlet/exhaust gaskets, plugs and valve stem seals. Should've saved my money to get a custom exhaust made but i could'nt resist lol. Going to build this up and connect it to a 16v box i have | |

| sweeeet she will be rather potent with the old 9a in mate my mk2 was bloody quick enough let alone what it will be like in a caddy. Are one of those gaskets the ABF steel one? If not dont bother with them, ebay them and get the steel one its a worthwhile upgrade. Also dont forget to put a KR inlet cam in the head if it still has 9a cams while your there bossnig. Orrrrr put a spacer plate between those gaskets and bolt a snail on | |

| No i dint get a metal gasket tom but it dont matter, i'll use the 1 i have for now then swap to metal when i pull it back out again over the winter. 1 gasket is for 2L and other is a 1.8 type that came in a set with the other bits. The head may have had the cam swapped already but will check before i build anyway. Yeah it should be uber rapido lol, it is with the 1.8 and thats with it needing a slight adjustment to timing and a blowing exhaust made up of a Ashley 4 branch into a mk1 gti middle then into original skinny caddy back box lol Going to tidy up the paint on the block, clean the head then see how she goes from there. Long term, i'll send the head off for port/polish, find some cams and aim to get 200bhp Keeping it old skool or factory look so No snails for me thank you muchly | |

| sweeet, use the 2.0 gasket then cause i think the 1.8 one is slightly smaller i cant remember now lol. If you need to set your timing up you know ive got a strobe down here you can borrow any time you want mate. Yeah that exhaust must be restricting it a bit, you going to get a custom one made eventually? | |

Yeah course i using the 2L gasket lol, i'll sell the 1.8 gasket. I have a strobe mate, just aint been arsed to do it lol. Was going to sort it when doing other bits in the bay. I'll be getting a custom exhaust done when funds allow, got a mates stag due in cardiff this month which is gunna be costly haha I'll do my best to knock something up for time being | |

| Looks like i'll be swapping the engines over sooner than i planned. She over heated and stalled a few times in heavy traffic today whilst going to huntingdon and then onto mvdelopments. Mounting kerbs on the A14 is not something i wanna be doing again, especially when i rolling on splitties . Thankfully, by being careful, i avoided damage All was ok on the way home as traffic was moving fairly well. It wont be an hard job to solve the problem but i dont see the point in fixing the prob to then pull it all out again lol May aswell do it once when the 9A is in | |
