2.0 8v front mount

hi does anyone know if the engine mount possition on the mk2 1.3 is correct for fitting mk3 2.0. i guess i use the mk3 mount, but hope the cross member is the correct part too.

not sure on the exact answer but a mk2 gti front mount fits.

so if the 1.3 doesnt then you may need a gti cross member.

ive only ever owned gti's

but does anyone know, or if anyone knows of anybody that has fitted a mk2 gti or 1.8 or 1.6 into a 1.3, with the original cross member then that would ansere it,

Right I can provide the answer but not till I be arsed to go out in the cold to look at the front crossmember and compare it, personally I cant vw retooling and using a different member.
Just make one that fits everything, but I wouldnt bet my bollock on it.

I am fitting the 2.08v into my 1.3 next sat, i want to try to have everything ready so i can drive the car on monday, (getting parts on the sunday wont be possible lol)

I meant to have a look tonight butgot caught up sorting my mk2.
