| hi guys
just wondering what a good caliper upgrade would be for a mk2 golf gti
other than 16v g60 and audi s2's
i've heard things about seat's
i'm not looking for something crazy like brembo or hi spec stuff
just something with more stopping power not surface area

| I would say that the easiest upgrade is the G60 set up. You can get a used kit on edition38 for 150-250 so its just as expensive as getting some used brembos | |

| You can get brand new 280 caliper carriers for £25 a side from another website (i ave the link on my phone) I bet they do the calipers on there too so a complete new set up would be relatively cheap. | |

| mk3 golf gti (early 280mm front disk version) are the same as G60 calipers.
Get the carriers too.
mk2 16v or mk3.5 cabrio hubs (which i am using). Bolt on job.
Its not just about bigger brakes. you need to upgrade that master cylinder.
Got a set of 16v calipers and carriers if your interested?

| you can use early VR6 calipers and carriers too, obviously need to get the 4 stud g60 discs though. They were plenty of stopping power for my mk2 VR i was very impressed | |

| Yep go for 280's, the G60 route... I did this with my old 16V, fitted early mk3 GTI calipers and carriers and the G60 4 stud discs and pads..... | |

| It's the master that makes the best improvement, get a 22mm one from a vr or if you can find a 23.6mm one from a passat b3 vr.
For amazing brakes whilst doing these make sure you put a complete set of braided lines on too, I slammed my mrs on the screen when I tried mine out first time locking both front wheels at 80mph...... no f*****g sense of humour either, she proper tore me off a strip !!
