how hard is it reinsert a piston in a golf abs brake caliper

Ive popped a few pistons out before when un-seizing them by blasting an airline down the union hole but always managed to put them back in by putting them in a vice and making sure its all lined up properly, just wind it in fairly slowly and don't tighten it up too much if its not going in.

or use a caliper windback tool, lube it up witha little brake fluid first it will help believe me.

easier to get a replacement ??
