anyone any idea why i would not have a power steering belt attached to my pulleys? ive only owned the car a week(mk 2 golf gti 16v). bloke before me reckons hes never had the power steering working and he owned it for 2 years???

the pump could be nackered, split in one of the hoses so fluid leaks out etc etc.

your gonna have to put a belt on and fill it up with fresh fluid and see what happens

ive had my fair share of no p/s so its well over due for me. Do hope its only a lazy b'stard who couldnt be bothered to replace the belt and not the latter!! Suspect
