| Hi Does anyone know what gasket set type i should use on me engine rebuild, bare inmind i have only just bought this car so no clue atm. The enigine is a 1.8 GTI 16v no idea of engine number yet. Now for the tricky bit is has been modded by GTI engineering to a RE2000 list of mods below it now makes it a 2.0ltr The conversion comprises:
Steel crankshaft of 92.8mm stroke,
Cylinder block specially machined with 82.5mm bore,
Lead-Indium heavy duty crankshaft bearings,
Alloy pistons with valve clearance cut-outs,
Gasflowed cylinder head,
Re-profiled inlet and exhaust valve throats,
Gasflowed inlet and exhaust manifold,
Selected valve springs,
- Modified injection system.
- 16V Camshafts.
So you see im not sure if i can put in a standard gasket set or need a race set just dont know. I did call BBR GTI but they where not sure of anything. Any help appreciated. | |
