| just rebuild them dry then run a bead of silicone around the seam. then run your finger around the bead to smooth it. then wait for it to dry, then take off every other nut and locktite them, then wait for those to dry then do the same with the rest of the nuts. then torque them up. | |

| ive looked through wheel whores and i dont see a good how to. when i split them the only place the sealant was, was on the bead/join and they leaked like f^ck, flat in minutes. so i was thinking of putting sealnt on the inner edge of the centers, outer edge and between bolt holes???? | |

| theres genereally 2 method to use to do it. first is as thermal mentioned but you may aswell locktite the bolts when you first put them in hand tight, then seal 3 times 24hrs apart then torque up.
the other is to sandwich the sealant between the matting surfaces, but still running it round the seam. ill be doing it this way with my RS' as thats how BBS instruct to do it so thats good enough for me.
i did the gottis the first methord and 2 leaked 2 were fine.

what do yuou mean matty tighten 3 times? depends what wheels they are? no run 3 lots of sealants, smooth each run out with your finger let set for 24hr and and repeat another 2 times.

| as matty said thermals way is fine but a ball ache taking all the bolts back out, if your going to dry build first just as easy to lock tight as u go along! i put sealer on the outter edge of the bolts and go between them a bit on each part, ie 2 piece on the barrel only then 3 piece barrel then centre. then put teh bolts in and do them up tight by hand then flip the wheel and torque them up. if doing 3 piece defo make sure u do the bolts up in a clock 12-3-6-9 stlye to pull the pieces in together properly | |

| If yourve got 16" annies Then they are two piece splits so you don't need to worry about sealant. Tighten the bolts up in a 12 o'clock 6 o'clock 3 o'clock 9 o'clock pattern then turn the wheel one bolt and repeat till all are tight.
Do this first at 18 (lb/ft N/M I forget which) then at 24.
If you need bolts I have spare.
Make sure you use plenty of loctite and you have cleaned all the threads properly prior to starting.
I hope this helps. | |
