Stunning work dude!

Just realised I havent updated this for a year or so. Had a very busy year last year, what with moving house, trying to renovate it and getting married. I have decided I need to get the car finished this year so I can finally go have some fun in it. Here are some pics of where the car is now and hopefully it will be painted in the next month or two.

I have managed to get a bit more done on the car but first of all we had to get it back on the spit - this was a pain to do as the ceiling in my new garage since moving house is not as high as the old one and I couldn't turn the car over. So it had to have a trip outside to put it upside down and then go back in.










Stone chipped all the wheel arches and then painted with top coat




Scotched the underside ready for paint

Awesome work going on in the garage! I know the feeling with the spit, was hard getting my MK1 setup in my garage... Paint jobs looks spot on.

Love it. Makes me wanna go do something with mine

hello , i have got some more paint on the golf now , inside is now all done getting as just got to stick the roof on and then we can paint the outside

so a small update with what my wife would say is progress as the car now has a roof !!

we started by keying the metal of the shell with 240 where the tiger seal was going



then put the roof skin on top and masked inside, so if any sealant came out it would be easier to clean off



glued , clamped and taped





before we put the roof on we had cut the A post so we could slide the skin inside to get a flush fit after a skim of filler









and finally got a coat of primer



hopefully tomorrow i will get a guide coat on and start wet flatting
